Dear Members,
It is, as always, with great sadness that we must make these announcements.
Last week, we sadly lost Bernice Short — a much-respected member of our rugby club’s family.
For those who remember and knew her, we will always have fond memories of her around the club, alongside her late husband, Mick Short. Both were instrumental in the behind-the-scenes contributions to our club.
At the Christmas lunch, I announced that we had decided to honour her late husband Mick by dedicating the walkway from the changing rooms to the main pitch gate. This is now known as ‘A Short Walk’ and includes a memorial garden area. Unfortunately, Bernice did not get to see this area completed.
The club will announce a Memorial Day for them both in due course — details to follow.
The funeral for Bernice will be held on:
